All in one place today – it’s been a while since the reading was altogether! Please read John 15:18-27, John 16, and John 17. Do you have a highlight today? What are your thoughts? Read and come on back – let’s chat!
“These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them.” John 16:1-4 NKJV
It’s happening now, isn’t it? Saints, please pray for the persecuted.
But there’s more that Jesus said the disciples couldn’t handle alone. In His wisdom and perfect timing and desire to give comfort in hard times, He also tells the disciples that Help is on the way.
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come” John 16:12-13 NKJV
So now the Helper, perfectly timed and desperately needed…. it is the Holy Spirit‘s job to reveal what Christ knows to us, to reveal to us the mind of Christ. It is our job to abide and trust and rest and let Him do His work. It is also our job to do the work assigned to us, and steward the work of Jesus well with the help of the Holy Spirit.
